When the government bestowed upon it the name 'Qasr Al Bustan Hotel' in the 1980s, it did so to symbolise Omani hospitality, generosity, and elegance. Whereas it wanted history to mark the appearance of this shining star in the skies of the capital, Muscat, the hotel graciously hosted the 1985 Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, embodying Omani and Arabian hospitality both internally and externally.
At that time, the media spoke about this captivating Omani architectural masterpiece, embracing the vastness of the Arabian Sea and its white sands. We then witness them conversing in a language translated by the lapping waves as they collide with the shore, echoing their words before retreating once again after saying what needed to be said.
So, the significance of the name becomes apparent only when the moon is full, signalling a message that the face of Oman has a splendid civilisation in the world of tourism and hospitality. The Omani platform, renowned for its generosity, has donned a new attire. In the garden and its palace, it has invoked all the glories of the Omani culture beyond the seas. The colossal history seeks refuge in the majestic silence within the halls of the garden palace, in front of each room and its 250 suites, and in front of each hall among its spaces, capable of accommodating more than 800 people at once.
The strange and fascinating thing is that every time you visit this palace hotel, it feels like you're visiting it for the first time. That's true, of course, and the reason is simple; it signifies that luxury has more than one meaning and more than one connotation. The viewing angles widen, narrow, and also revolve in a stunning embodiment of the absolute beauty that knows no bounds or places. As it has always been, it stands with all the palaces of luxury, splendor, and grandeur in the world. As it is authentic and has deep roots, it challenges every time it ages, declaring a challenge to all emerging hotels and palaces. It tells us that the engravings, decorations, symbols, and the meanings conveyed by them, along with its walls and halls, cannot be matched by any other building. Every newcomer will bow in front of the Palace and its garden.
If someone asks about the name 'Al-Bustan,' how it originated, why it came about, and how it rightfully earned this great honour after distancing itself from all other names? Then local name prevailed after becoming global. After that, we find the hotel fully booked throughout the year, as people have learned about the magic of this place. They are now racing to have the privilege of getting a room in this marvelous palace.
If we had placed our mounts as lovers of beauty on the shores of the palace, then entered it with the tranquility and velvety relaxation on the beds, pillows, and cushions that are irresistible, the level of service and the charm of the smiles of the staff, and the radiance of their faces, are sufficient to drive the armies of boredom to self-immolation. For this reason, the smile emanating from the hearts' cores became a symbol of love and peace.
We hope that this palace hotel remains a symbol of everything beautiful, of every beautiful symbol, and of every noble generosity forever. All of these, collectively, embody the meaning of Omani hospitality and generosity across the ages.
