Promptly responding to the emergencies, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Dhofar Governorate deployed fire and rescue teams to Salalah and Taqah, effectively containing and extinguishing the blazes.

In Dhofar Governorate, the risk of wildfires increases, posing a significant threat to the region's natural beauty and ecosystem. To mitigate this risk, the Environment Agency urges residents and visitors to exercise extreme caution and adopt simple yet crucial measures such as avoiding open flames near tree trunks, properly disposing of cigarette butts, and ensuring the complete extinguishment of campfires.

Additionally, reporting any suspicious smoke or fire activity immediately, refraining from parking vehicles on dry grass or brush, keeping a fire extinguisher readily available, and creating a defensible space around homes can further enhance wildfire prevention efforts. By collectively taking these precautions, the general public can safeguard Dhofar Governorate's precious natural heritage from the devastating consequences of wildfires.

Emphasising the importance of fire safety practices, particularly for those venturing into pastoral areas, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department urges citizens and residents to refrain from starting fires and dispose of waste responsibly.

The drying of grasses following autumn rains, coupled with the onset of winter draughts, further elevates the risk of wildfires during this period. Therefore, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department strongly encourages everyone to exercise extreme caution and promptly report any signs of fire by dialing 9999.
