MUSCAT: During the recent Omani Youth Day celebrations organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Youth, Oxy Oman was recognized for its continued contributions to youth programs in the Sultanate.
The celebration was held at Al Mouj Muscat, under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, and the attendance of H.E. Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary for Sports and Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, & Youth. Steven Lauver, President and General Manager of Oxy Oman, attended the event along with senior executives at the company.
Oxy Oman has sponsored a variety of high-impact youth-centered initiatives in Oman, including its strategic sponsorship of the Oman Youth Center. The Youth Center is an initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth aimed at developing integrated centers for Omani youth, with plans to expand to all governorates of the Sultanate. Over the last year, the Youth Center conducted virtual workshops to reach more than 20,000 youth beneficiaries, including young Omani entrepreneurs, throughout Oman.
“We’re excited to celebrate Omani Youth Day and humbled to receive this award as recognition for our years of support for youth development, from sports & wellbeing, to youth entrepreneurship as well as cultural and arts appreciation. As a company, Oxy Oman believes it is important for the Sultanate to enhance the well-being and development of Omani youth. programs. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility program, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote youth development throughout Oman,” said Mr. Lauver.
Oxy Oman has also notably sponsored projects such as the.NXT Development Program to support youth entrepreneurship, the Oxy Sports Days program for school students, and the Awtad 3D printing program for schools across the Sultanate.
This sponsorship falls under Oxy Oman’s umbrella of strategic partnerships and continuous collaboration with key stakeholders, and is part of Oxy Oman’s endeavor and long-term commitment to support programs that enhance economic growth and sustainable development and that yield positive impacts in the neighboring communities.
