On the Occasion of the Sultanate of Oman's National Day, which falls on November 18, the Royal Oman Police (ROP), citizens, and residents unite in pride, marking a day of renewed commitment and diligence towards conveying a message of security and stability. Aligned with the glorious National Day, the ROP reaffirms its dedication to fortify its systems and personnel and adapt to emerging challenges and advancements, in harmony with Oman Vision 2040.

This day stands as a testament to pride, dignity, and an enduring sense of belonging. The ROP, consistently backed by support and advancements in training and practice, takes pride in being a pivotal force in ensuring national security.


Security Umbrella: The ROP, with its extensive network of police centres, ensures security across the country. The ROP's commitment extends to every wilayat, from traffic management to passports and civil status services. Specialised task force units stand ready to handle emergencies, providing crucial support to other ROP formations.


Investment in Human Resources and Training: The ROP's General Command strategically plans training, aligning it with mission requirements and evolving security challenges. The Sultan Qaboos Police Academy, along with training departments and divisions, employs the latest programs for police personnel, ensuring a fusion of scientific and academic applications.

Digital Transformation: Swiftly adapting to the digital era, the ROP has digitised services, making them seamlessly accessible to citizens and residents. Over 30 e-systems have been upgraded by the Directorate- General of Information Technology, offering comprehensive digital services through various channels. The ROP's user-friendly application and website, equipped with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), are pivotal in delivering high-quality, 24/7 digital services.


Traffic services, customs transactions, passports, and civil status services have undergone significant digitisation, streamlining processes and ensuring accessibility from anywhere in the world. The ROP's pursuit of complete integration and digitalisation aligns with the vision for Oman 2040.

Unified Security System for Port Management: The ROP's development of modern customs and security procedures boost economic and tourist activities. A unified security system for managing land, air, and sea ports ensures smooth entry, supported by advanced surveillance systems and search devices. This system, operated by qualified staff, enhances control over people and goods, aligning with long-term security strategies.


The Directorate-General of Traffic prioritises road safety through traffic control procedures, patrols, and modern monitoring systems. Vehicle technical inspections, facilitated by 50 points nationwide with modern equipment, ensure vehicles meet safety standards. Online services, such as the transfer of driver's licenses, enhance convenience through the ROP application and website.

Coast Guard and Police Aviation: The Coast Guard Police Command combats smuggling, piracy, and infiltration, maintaining public security at ports and maritime facilities. The Directorate-General of Police Aviation supports police formations, conducting patrols, search and rescue operations, and medical evacuations, showcasing its versatility in challenging terrains.


Security Media: The ROP emphasises security awareness through the Department of Media and Public Relations.


The department utilises various media platforms to communicate security developments, raise awareness of societal issues, and educate the public about the dangers of drugs, reckless driving, social media, and cybercrime. The ROP's commitment to security extends beyond enforcement, fostering a safer and informed society.
