The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) announced the opening of its student transfer service, allowing students to seamlessly move between branches within the same programme or specialisation.

This announcement, issued by the Deanship of Admission and Registration, opens up a significant avenue for academic mobility.

Eligible students can apply for transfers from Sunday to Thursday providing them with the opportunity to experience different academic environments within the university.

Prospective applicants are advised to thoroughly review the transfer regulations before submitting their requests to ensure a smooth and well-informed process as they consider a change in their academic path.

The university encourages students to take advantage of this transfer opportunity, fostering a dynamic and enriching academic experience. For further details and to initiate the transfer process, students are directed to visit the official university portal.

UTAS also notes that students are required to use the same login credentials for the CIMS system to access the page dedicated to transfer requests.

The online service is not available for requests from the batches of 2023 or 2024 and for those whose transfer requests have been previously approved.

In the 2022 annual report of UTAS, Dr Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baowain, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the University Council, emphasised the institution's commitment to preparing generations with academic, technical, and professional prowess in applied fields. This involves a focus on cultivating creativity, innovation, and scientific research.

UTAS aims to develop a skilled cadre of human resources across diverse fields, meeting the demands of sustainable development and the dynamic public and private sectors. These objectives align with a broader dedication to prioritise the education sector at various levels. The university aspires to create a supportive environment for scientific research and innovation, in line with a top national priority.

This vision is in harmony with Oman Vision 2040, highlighting the role of education, scientific research, and innovation in constructing a competitive, knowledge-based economy.
