Muscat: Twenty-nine second-class public prosecutors on Wednesday took the oath of office before Sayyid Mohammed Sultan al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The ceremony, held at the Supreme Judicial Council, was attended by Attorney General Nasr Khamis al Sawaee.
Sayyid Mohammed congratulated the prosecutors on their selection as members of the judiciary and urged them to exert efforts and devote time to serving the process of justice.
In particular, he exhorted the public prosecution agents to fully adhere to judicial instructions regulating the workflow at the public prosecution department and to reflect that dedication to the mission through their professional and personal conduct. He also advised them to take up lawsuits in a manner that preserves the dignity of litigants and saves their time, while at the same time harnessing modern technology in their regular tasks.
It is worth noting that the recently appointed second-class public prosecutors obtained the Postgraduate Diploma in Judicial Sciences after a two-year course at the Supreme Judicial Council. They also completed practical training at public prosecution branches in different geographical areas and at specialized jurisdiction offices.
