Barka: Khazaen Economic City on Tuesday signed an investment agreement with National Gas company in the logistics sector. The agreement provides for the development of an integrated Truck Rest Area with an investment value of RO 2.7 million.
The agreement includes the establishment of designated parking lots for trucks, setting up an accommodation for drivers, introducing vehicle maintenance services, commercial stores and facilities supporting the logistics sector within an area of 50,000 square metres.
This agreement constitutes one of National Gas company's strategic investments aimed to enhance economic diversification and investment in logistics, one of Oman’s fastest-growing sectors.
The Truck Rest Area, being the first project of its kind, is located halfway between Khazaen Land Port, Khazaen vegetables and fruits central market and the Khazaen Logistics Centre.
