Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Department of Non-Communicable Diseases, has been designated as a collaborating centre for research and training in the area of chronic respiratory diseases by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Ministry of Health has enhanced and developed health services for patients with chronic respiratory diseases at all levels of healthcare. It has established 161 asthma clinics at the primary health care level and continues to provide a wide range of medications. In addition, the Ministry of Health has invested in training and building the capacity of pharmacists, doctors and nurses to ensure optimal healthcare delivery to patients.
The WHO Collaborating Centers are distinguished global institutions that work to support and promote the goals of the World Health Organization in a variety of health fields.
