Sayyid Theyazin graces Omani Youth Day celebrations

Muscat: HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, on Sunday graced the celebration of the Omani Youth Day, which took place at Al Mouj Walk.


As part of the event, winners of the 4th edition of the Youth Excellence Award were honored.

The accompanying expo, whose activities will be available to the public until October 30, displays the “Energies” experience; in addition to some screens showcasing pivotal figures who inspire people to move on in various artistic, cultural, sports, scientific, research, and economic aspects.


The event also saw the signing of seven agreements, most notably the establishment of the Cultural and Youth Centre in South al Sharqiyah Governorate, specifically in the Wilayat of Sur.


Nonetheless, a financing agreement was signed to set up the Youth Centre in South al Sharqiyah Governorate in the Wilayat of Sur, funded by Oman LNG.


Another agreement was inked to establish a public library within the Cultural and Youth Center, financed by the Bahwan Charitable Foundation.


To be funded by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), an agreement was signed to support and sponsor youth programs and activities for the Youth Center.


By signing a financing agreement, Al Mouj Muscat will also be the sponsor of youth programs and activities for the Youth Center.


Three private entities have inked pacts to support and finance the youth skills development project (READY programme), including CC Energy Development Company, PDO, and Outward Bound Oman.


On the sidelines of the event, the patron honored the best three youth startups, in addition to establishments supporting the youth sector for the year 2023, including the SME Development Authority, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Oman LNG, PDO, Occidental Oman, Vodafone, Al Madina Real Estate, Oman Oil Marketing Company, Ithika Group, Audi Oman, CC Energy Development and Al Mouj Muscat.
