Oman exports over 230 million oil barrels

MUSCAT: The total amount of the Sultanate of Oman’s oil exports until the end of September 2023 reached to about 230.292 million barrels, calculating the average price at $79.9/barrel. Oil exports constituted 80.2 per cent of the total oil production with 287.037 million barrels.


Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the total production of crude oil decreased by 3.3 per cent to reach 223.555 million barrels, while the total production of oil condensates increased by 8.1 per cent, recording 63.482 million barrels. The average daily oil production reached 1,051,400 barrels until end of September 2023.


China topped the countries importing oil from the Sultanate of Oman, with total exports reaching 210.172 million barrels, followed by Japan with 7.384 million barrels, then the Republic of Korea with 2.851 million barrels, and India with 2.716 million barrels. Exports to other countries amounted to 7.168 million barrels.


On the other hand, the total domestic production and import of natural gas amounted to 40.589 billion cubic metres as of end September, an increase of 3.6 per cent compared to the same period in 2022, with 39.174 billion cubic metres.


Statistics showed that industrial projects accounted for 58.5 per cent of natural gas uses in Oman until end of September, amounting to about 23.777 billion cubic metres.


The total use of natural gas for: oil fields amounted to 10.089 billion cubic metres, power generation stations amounted to 6.526 billion cubic metres, and industrial areas reached 197.100 million cubic metres.


The non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, reached 32.442 billion cubic metres, while the associated production amounted to 8.147 billion cubic metres. — ONA
