MUSCAT: Asyad Group, Oman’s global integrated logistics provider, took part in the first Duqm Economic Forum, that was held recently, as a Strategic Partner.

The forum aimed at highlighting the remarkable potential and competitive advantages of Duqm as a major hub for investment and sustainability, where Asyad has been a pivotal player in supporting its development and growth.

Since the inception of the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD), Asyad Group has been at the heart of Duqm and the logistics lever for its vast expansion, primarily through the world-class Asyad Drydock as well as Asyad Terminal Duqm, and the Port of Duqm, a joint venture between Asyad and Consortium Antwerp Port.

The global logistics powerhouse showcased its integrated logistics ecosystem that SEZAD-hosted businesses can seamlessly access and leverage to unlock opportunities regionally and globally.

As part of the Forum’s agenda, Omar al Mahrzi, CEO of Sohar Freezone and Deputy CEO of Sohar Port, joined industry leaders for a panel discussion titled “Opportunity in Supply Chain”.

Al Mahrzi highlighted Asyad’s position as the main driver shaping Oman’s sustainable logistics future, in line with the Group’s unwavering commitment to decarbonisation.

The forum’s attendees also had the unique opportunity of gaining valuable insight on the innovative initiatives and partnerships stimulating Duqm and Oman’s drive toward a green energy future, presented by Reggy Vermeulen, CEO of Port of Duqm, during his participation in the “Duqm’s Green Energy Advantage” panel discussion.

In another activity of the forum, Asyad Group hosted a delegation of top diplomats, international business leaders and government officials at its state-of-the-art shipyard in Duqm, Asyad Drydock.

During the visit, the Group showcased its superior ship-servicing offering, cutting-edge facilities, and advanced shipbuilding and repair capabilities.

Leveraging its standing as a leading integrated logistics provider, Asyad Group continues to be at the forefront of development in Oman and beyond, actively promoting elite forums and events to open new avenues for collaboration and partnership that cement Oman as a global hub for logistics, trade, and investment.
