MUSCAT: Al Bashayer Club secured a resounding 105-49 victory against Oman Club in the Oman Basketball League 2023-24 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Wednesday night.


From the start, it was evident that Al Bashayer was in control, with their players exhibiting exceptional skills and teamwork. Throughout all four quarters, the Al Bashayer team demonstrated their unwavering focus and determination, making the most of every available opportunity.


Notable standout performances came from Al Bashayer's key players Damon Rosser, Adel al Batashi, Hadeed Beit Bakhit, Mahmoud al Souli, and Osama al Riyami. These players consistently contributed to the team's remarkable performance.


The first quarter saw Al Bashayer making a strong start, exerting considerable pressure on Oman Club. Mahmoud al Souli opened the scoring for Al Bashayer with a shot from under the basket, followed by two points from American professional player Damon. Al Bashayer continued to extend their lead with Osama al Riyami's basket.


After several attempts, Hussein al Kindi of Oman Club managed to score two points, narrowing the gap. The game remained intense with both teams engaging in a series of exciting offensive plays. Al Bashayer capitalised on these opportunities, with Ahmed al Qahwari, Damon and Mahmoud al Souli adding six more points to their tally. A well-organised play from Oman Club allowed Hussein al Kindi to score two more points, followed by a two-point basket by Mazen al Hadidi.


Al Bashayer added another six points, with Damon and Mahmoud al Souli contributing, while Ahmed al Jahwari and Nooh al Mahruqi secured four more points. This extended Al Bashayer's lead to 18-6. Oman Club responded with a two-point basket by Madh al Busaidi.


Al Bashayer maintained their offensive advantage, adding eight more points. The first quarter concluded with Al Bashayer leading Oman Club 26-8.


IMPRESSIVE SHOW


In the second quarter, Al Bashayer continued their impressive performance, with Hadeed Beit Bakhit scoring two points. Damon and Adil al Batashi further extended the lead with four points. Oman Club's Jalal al Muslimi stepped up, scoring five points, including a three-pointer, to bridge the gap.


Al Bashayer's Hadeed Beit Bakhit, Abdul Rahman al Shibli and Adil al Batashi contributed six more points, further widening the team's lead to 38-13. The two teams continued their offensive endeavours, with Al Bashayer adding 22 points and Oman Club scoring 8. The first half concluded with Al Bashayer leading Oman 60-21.


In the third quarter, Al Bashayer's relentless offensive strategy prevailed, with the team adding 24 points. Oman Club managed to secure only 15 points, and the third quarter concluded with Al Bashayer in a commanding position of 84-36.


The fourth quarter continued in a similar fashion, with Al Bashayer maintaining their offensive dominance to secure a victory. They added 21 more points, while Oman Club managed 13 points. The game ended with Al Bashayer claiming a decisive win with a final score of 106-49.


The match was officiated by international referees with Essam al Siyabi as the first referee, Rashed al Mashifari as the second referee and Mansour al Buhari as the third referee. The table officials included Mariam al Zadjali, Houd al Hinaai and Majed al Ikhzami.
