Muscat: Dhalkout and Rakhyout received more than 200 mm of rainfall as an impact of Tej, the tropical cyclone that got downgraded to a tropical depression on Tuesday night.
However, the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre said there are chances of the atmosphere of the Sultanate of Oman being affected by a depression during the period of October 26 to 28.
Oman Met Office stated that the tropical cyclone has been downgraded to a tropical depression, and wind speeds were estimated at 17 to 27 knots, with the possibility of the condition fading away gradually over the next 12 hours.
The coastal and mountainous areas and parts of the desert of Dhofar Governorate continued to be affected by rainfall of varying intensity from 20 mm.

Continued activity of cumulonimbus clouds and scattered rains of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by active descending winds, hailstones falling on the Hajar Mountains and their surrounding areas, and the descent of valleys and reefs.
Meanwhile, a preliminary image showed rainfall in several parts of the Hajar Mountains on Tuesday.
The authorities have requested the public to refrain from crossing wadis no matter what the level of the water is.
The Civil Aviation Authority called upon everyone to take the utmost caution and not to risk crossing wadis and to stay away from low-lying places. It also called upon the public not to go to the sea during this period.
