Al Bashayer dominate Salalah in OBL

MUSCAT: Al Bashayer Club showcased an outstanding performance, securing a win over the Salalah Club 92-41 in the Oman Basketball League 2023-24. The game was held at the secondary hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Friday.


Al Bashayer dominated throughout the four quarters, leading to a significant victory. The team's relentless offensive maneuvers were led by star players Osama al Riyami, Adel al Batashi, Ahmed al Halhali, Mahmoud al Souli, Bassam al Busaidi, Saeed al Saadi, and their fellow teammates.


The match began with Al Bashayer taking an early lead, scoring six points through Bassam al Busaidi, Abdul Rahman al Sanani and Saeed al Saadi. Salalah responded with two points scored by Saeed Ghassan.


Al Bashayer continued their offensive and added 40 more points, while Salalah managed to score 14 points. The first quarter ended with Al Bashayer leading Salalah 46-16.


In the second quarter, Al Bashayer extended their lead with a three-pointer by Bassam al Busaidi, while Faisal Beit Abdul Nabi of Salalah added two points. Both teams kept scoring, and the first half ended with Al Bashayer in the lead at 56-19.


As the match progressed into the third quarter, Al Bashayer intensified their offensive strategies, amassing an additional 20 points. In response, Salalah managed to accumulate 10 points. The third quarter concluded with Al Bashayer in a commanding position, leading 76-29.


The fourth and final quarter saw Salalah putting up a more formidable effort, yet Al Bashayer remained relentless, scoring 16 points. Salalah made a valiant effort by adding 12 points to their tally. The game ultimately ended with Al Bashayer claiming a resounding victory, defeating Salalah with a final score of 92-41.


The international referees for the match were Rashed al Mashfari as the head referee, Ali al Sulaimani as the second referee, and Wafa al Sumairi as the third referee. The table officials were Hafiz al Ahmad, Amima al Hajri and Majid al Ikhzami.
