Muscat: Oman Meterology said that there are chances of scattered rain, sometimes thunderous in parts of the Hajar Mountains (South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, and South Al Batinah) due to the formation of cumulonimbus clouds.
Thunderstorms will be accompanied by active downward winds, and chances of hailstones falling during the afternoon and evening on the Hajar Mountains and their surrounding areas, which may extend to include the coastal areas of the Sea of Oman, Oman Meterology said in a statement.
Sea waves are expected to rise from calm to medium waves (1.5-2. 0) meters) on the coasts of Musandam Governorate, South Al Sharqiyah, and Muscat on Wednesday and Thursday.
Waves will be calm/average (1.25-1.5 meters) on parts of the coast of the Sea of Oman on Thursday.
