Muscat: The Rajasthan Wing of the Indian Social club celebrated their re-inaugural ceremony with a cultural fiesta held at ISC multi-purpose hall.
One of the largest states in India, Rajasthan is known for its rich history and vibrant traditions, culture and colours. There are about 700 families residing in Oman.
In his speech on the occasion, Ambassador of India to Oman, Amit Narang congratulated the wing members for taking up the initiative of re-registration of the wing.
“Rajasthan as the name suggests is land of Royals with heritage and culture being vibrant with ancient foods and palaces with distinct cuisine,” he said in his speech.
He pointed out how Rajasthan plays a central part in the international campaign of India, 'Incredible India'.
The convener of the Rajasthan Wing, Pankaj Phophaliya welcomed the audience.
Addressing the gathering P Babu Rajendran, ISC Chairman, congratulated the wing members and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Social Development for the guidance and support.
The event of the wing was coordinated by Sudha Pankaj Joshi and featured traditional folk art forms of Rajasthan.
Rajasthani community living in Oman, who had gathered enjoyed the state’s songs, folk dances and other cultural programmes conducted on the occasion.
