MUSCAT: The Youth Centre celebrated the conclusion of the 2023 summer programmes in the Wilayat of Sur in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, under the auspices of HH Sayyid Dr Adham bin Turki al Said in the presence of Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of South Al Sharqiyah, and Basil bin Ahmed al Rawas, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth.
The closing ceremony included a visual presentation about the summer programmes presented by Maryam bint Nasser al Kharbushi, Acting CEO of the Youth Centre.
It was a great learning experience for the participants, as the event was supported by Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company (LNG) and other public and private partners.
The Youth Centre held more than 80 programmes from June to August 2023, benefiting 5,431 young men and women from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The programmes were aligned on three main tracks, the first being the talent and skills track. It took care of the talents and abilities of young people and worked to implant the idea of transferring skills and talents for the economy and additional income for them.
The second was the consulting track, which provided consulting programmes including aspects of mental health, legal, entrepreneurial and vocational consulting, and others.
The third track was entertainment, which created events and recreational activities for young people that contribute to their recreation.
Apart from this, there were virtual programmes to reach the largest segment of young people.
The Youth Centre implemented summer programmes in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman this year, aiming to refine and develop young people's skills and capabilities.
