Salalah - The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) announced the start of winter tourism season in Dhofar Dhofar Governorate, which will continue until the end of April.
Marwan bin Abdul Hakim al Ghassani, Director of the Promotion Department in Dhofar Governorate, said, "MHT will implement programs and activities to make the governorate' as the most prominent destination on the tourist map, especially the Al-Mughassil Beach, which has been rated among beautiful beaches in the world.
He added: The number of direct flights from European markets to Salalah Airport during the years (2022-2023) was 478, in addition to around 30 cruise ships.
The governorate will host, next week, a delegation of French journalists to visit the most important archaeological and tourist attractions and prepare press reports, in addition to hosting a television team from the Czech Republic to direct a promotional film about the tourist sites that characterize the Dhofar Governorate.
A ministry hosting a group of old football players from the Netherlands as media coverage of these players will have a positive impact on the winter tourism season, in addition to hosting a delegation of tourism companies.
The Governorate of Dhofar sees two tourist seasons annually - the winter tourism season, which begins from October to the end of April and attracts European tourists, and the Khareef season, which begins from June until September and attracts local and regional tourists.
