The Arabian Cobra, scientifically known as Naja arabica, is a venomous snake species native to the Arabian Peninsula. This serpent is characterized by its slender body, which can reach lengths of 1 to 1.5 meters, glossy scales in shades of brown to olive-green, and the ability to expand a distinctive hood when threatened. Its venom, composed primarily of neurotoxins, is highly potent, enabling the cobra to immobilize prey such as small mammals, birds, and other snakes. These snakes are adaptable to arid environments, including deserts and scrublands, and are active mainly during cooler periods of the day and night. Beyond its biological significance, the Arabian Cobra holds cultural importance in the folklore and mythology of the region, often symbolizing protection against malevolent forces.
