MUSCAT: A geosynthetic manufacturer based in Germany, Naue Group will participate in the upcoming ISWA 2023 World Congress which will be held in Muscat on Oct 30 – Nov 1. Dr. Jovanna Husemann (pictured), Dr. Naue Group business development manager, said, “It is my pleasure and honour to participate in the 39th ISWA World Congress which will take place in Oman.

The Congress offers a perfect opportunity to appraise the international efforts of diverse stakeholders coming from industry, academia, investment, and government sectors toward achieving sustainable waste management worldwide. It is an excellent opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to work together, across borders, to effectively tackle the ongoing waste management challenges of today’s world, and to discuss innovative strategies for the future. With that regard, the selected location of this year’s World Congress has significant importance.”

“The Sultanate of Oman and Oman Environmental Services Holding Co (be’ah) have become important players within the waste management landscape, not only in the Gulf region but internationally as well. Naue Group has had an opportunity to establish a successful collaboration with be’ah, and I am very much looking forward to the Congress and learning more about be’ah’s efforts and achievements in modernizing Oman’s waste management sector,” Dr Husemann said.

“Naue’s commitment to contribute to the World Congress may be recognized through the many diverse activities we plan. We are very much looking forward to personally welcoming the participants at the exhibition space and sharing our ideas and solutions in light of Naue’s motto ‘Building on the sustainable ground’.

With that regard, we prepared a poster where we summarised the findings of the comparison of geotechnical over conventional construction materials in light of sustainability aspects. I am particularly glad that I may support this distinguished event as a speaker by addressing the topic how the Arabian Peninsula Fast-Tracks Sustainable Waste Management Practice.

This is to be round with my planned participation at the ISWA Landfills & Closing Dumpsites Task Force meeting where I will have an opportunity to exchange ideas, new trends, and concrete action plans with international experts. Finally, I am particularly excited about visiting Oman for the first time and meeting its rich cultural heritage and people,” Dr Husemann added.
