MUSCAT: The State Audit Institution (SAI) in coordination with the Ministry of Health conducted an awareness session under the title ‘National Roles and Institutional Partnership in Protecting Public Funds and Promoting Integrity,’ on Wednesday.
The session, attended by a number of employees of the Ministry of Health, comes in continuation of the approach adopted by the SAI with the aim of achieving institutional integration to protect public funds.
A visual presentation was screened which dealt with SAI’s objectives, specializations and work output as well as the methods applied to carry out oversight work and the most notable outputs from SAI’s social and institutional partnerships.
In addition, two working papers were presented, the first of which dealt with the national roles played by the SAI and the second one discussed the topic of protecting public funds and the obligations of the government official.
The SAI provided the attendees with the most prominent contents of the code of conduct for civil servants at the units of the state’s administrative apparatus and reviewed the articles therein. It clarified on the mechanism for examining complaints and reports it receives and the ways for submitting complaints. The meeting concluded by holding a discussion session during which SAI officials answered questions raised by the participants. — ONA
