A key forum designed to promote financial literacy among the Omani youth began at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) on Monday. The two-day event has been organised by the Economics and Finance Group and the Accounting Club at SQU.
The Financial Forum, previously known as the Muscat Stock Market Forum, has consistently provided a platform for individuals to expand their understanding of economic and financial matters. Its primary objective is to increase awareness within society about economic and financial concepts and keep participants updated on the latest global economic developments that can impact both the nation's economy and individuals. As the lifeblood of society, money demands a deep understanding, making this event a crucial gathering for financial and economic knowledge and expertise, said the organisers.
The Financial Forum 2023 has set forth clear objectives to achieve its mission by increasing financial awareness. The forum aims to enhance financial and engage institutions by economic awareness among its target audience and encourage relevant institutions involved in the country's economic and financial aspects to participate and contribute to spreading financial literacy.
Spanning a total of four days, the first part of the forum took place during October 2 – 3, 2023, while the second part resumes on October 10-11, 2023. Participants will have ample opportunities to engage with experts and expand their financial knowledge. The event will conclude with a grand closing evening, bringing together participants for networking and reflection.
