Muscat: Khazaen Vegetables and Fruits Central Market company announced the start of the second phase of a plan to lease new market facilities at Khazaen Economic City.
Khazaen called upon all companies and establishments wishing to engage in the activity of wholesale vegetable and fruit sale to come forward and book their desired stalls, right from October 1, 2023, in the runup to the official opening of the market next year.
Seventy-five per cent of the market has been completed, said the company, noting that the facility would serve a larger segment of consumers thanks to its large area estimated at triple the space of Al Mawaleh Central Market. The new market occupies a key location in the South Batinah Governorate, it added.
The company in charge of Khazaen Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits signed an agreement with Muscat Municipality in May 2021 to transfer all business activities from Al Mawaleh area to the new market at Khazaen Economic City in the Wilayat of Barka. Once completed, the project will occupy a total of 700,000 sqm, with 412,000 sqm set to be developed during the first phase.
