Al Seeb Club continued their winning streak by securing third consecutive victory, triumphing over Al Rustaq Club with an impressive 2-0 scoreline at the Al Rustaq Complex Stadium.
The first half of the match witnessed a cautious approach from both teams, with a relative advantage for Al Seeb, as they attempted to breach Al Rustaq penalty area several times.
In the 16th minute, Al Seeb striker Abdulaziz al Muqbali had a close call as he aimed for the left post of Al Rustaq’s goalkeeper. Al Seeb managed to score the first goal with a wonderful shot from outside the penalty area by Ali al Busaidi in the 30th minute. Then, Al Seeb continued to dominate the first half, with Al Rustaq retreating back and relying on counterattacks.
At the end of the first half, Al Seeb had several opportunities that were not exploited properly, to end the first half 1-0.
In the second half, Al Rustaq made efforts to regain momentum, but Al Seeb's organised defence thwarted their attempts. Al Seeb solidified their lead with a second goal, skillfully headed in by Hamad al Amri in the 51st minute. Al Rustaq made strategic substitutions, attempting to turn the tide, but Al Seeb's resilience prevailed.
Al Seeb had multiple opportunities to widen the gap, yet Al Rustaq’s goalkeeper stood firm, denying any further goals. Al Rustaq tried to reduce the score and led a number of attacks, but they were unable to threaten Al Seeb goal. Mohsin al Ghassani missed the third goal by shooting a weak ball that the Al Rustaq goalkeeper was able to easily save. The two teams continued their attempts until the final whistle by the referee.
With this result Al Seeb, led by their Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira, were able to achieve the full mark in the league, securing second place with nine points from three matches and has a postponed match.
On the other hand, Al Rustaq failed to break the series of draws, and are in ninth place with three points from three draws and a defeat.
