MUSCAT: Qais bin Muhammad al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) , met yesterday in his office Abbas Aliabadi, Minister of Industry, Minerals and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance economic, trade and investment relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran and increase trade and investment exchange between them.
During the meeting, Al Yousef discussed on the historic visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the priorities that were discussed during the leaders’ meeting.
For his part, Abbas Aliabadi stressed that the Sultanate of Oman is a friend and strategic partner of the Islamic Republic of Iran, explaining that the two countries have great potential for joint cooperation due to their geographical location.
The two sides discussed the exchange of investment opportunities and information that will hopefully contribute to attracting Iranian investors to invest in the sectors that the Sultanate of Oman focuses on in industry, tourism, mining, food security and logistics.
During the meeting, private sector projects in the two countries and increasing joint investments were also discussed.
The meeting was attended by Dr Saleh bin Saeed Musan, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion for Trade and Industry, Ali Najafi, the Iranian ambassador accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of officials from both sides. — ONA
