MUSCAT, SEPT 19

Al Nasr Club clinched their first victory in the Omantel League, triumphing over Ibri Club with a single goal in a match held at Ibri Youth Complex during the fourth round.

The match kicked off under rainy conditions, with both teams displaying a cautious approach. Al Nasr intensified their offensive maneuvers against Ibri after the initial five minutes, seeking an early goal. Ibri responded with a series of counterattacks but failed to capitalise on the opportunities. In the 15th minute, Ibri had a chance to score the opening goal, but Faisal al Aghbari missed the opportunity. Towards the end of the first half, Ibri scored a goal, only for it to be disallowed due to an offside. Consequently, the first half concluded with a goalless draw.

In the second half, Al Nasr upped the pressure on Ibri and, in the 47th minute, managed to break the deadlock with a header from Walid al Musalmi. This marked Al Nasr's first goal in the league, following three scoreless rounds.

After the goal, Ibri coach Mohsin bin Darwish al Balushi made strategic player substitutions to bolster the team's offensive efforts. Despite Ibri's attempts to seize control of the match and create dangerous attacks, they were unable to convert them into goals. In the dying moments, Al Nasr came close to netting another goal against Ibri, but Versi Perry's shot hit the left post. The match concluded with Al Nasr defeating Ibri with a solitary goal.

With this result, Al Nasr Club reached the fourth point, while Ibri Club remained with 3 points from three matches.

In the second half, the two teams continued the course of the half in the same rhythm as the previous one, with a relative advantage for the Dhofar team, which presented a better level. Dhofar succeeded in the last quarter of the match in scoring the lone goal of the match through a penalty kick by Moataz Saleh.

With this result, Dhofar's tally rose to 6 points, as they gained only 3 points from the past 3 rounds. Dhofar had recently dismissed Egyptian technical director Hamada Sedqi and Younes Aman took over the place.

On the other hand, Bahla have 4 points and fell to seventh in the table after the end of the round.
