The 16th Food and Hospitality Oman (FHO) began at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre here on Monday, offering three days of opportunities for engagement, investment and collaboration.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Saud bin Hamood al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth, and Water Resources, in the presence of distinguished representatives from the ministry and key industry figures. FHO is held under the patronage of the Ministry, reaffirming its significance in Oman's food and hospitality landscape. The event is supported by prestigious entities, with Oman Air Catering as the Host Organization and A’Saffa Foods SAOG as the Poultry Sponsor.
"We are happy to welcome you to Food and Hospitality Oman 2023. This event helps businesses and lets smaller companies see new technologies and global brands. It's a chance to make connections and do business," a Ministry official said.
After the event's start, important people got a tour of the exhibition to see the food and hospitality industry up close. FHO brings together companies from Bangladesh, Belgium, China, India, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, and the UAE.
FHO showcases innovations in food and drink, farming, food machines, kitchen tools, hotel supplies, and cafe ideas. This event also helps Oman's economy, culture, and tourism, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
At FHO, there's also a place called the FHO Knowledge Hub, where people can join seminars and conferences to learn more about Oman's hospitality industry. They talk about things like making food and farming more sustainable, using data to help customers better, and how to make sure there's enough food and it's healthy. The next day, they'll talk about how small businesses can keep growing and make customers happy. They'll also share cooking ideas from great chefs.
On the last day, various speakers will dwell on how new technology is changing how we buy food, the good things and problems with using technology in grocery stores, and why it's important to make sure food is made the right way.
