MUSCAT: In an exciting event aimed at promoting innovation in beachfront design, the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate has announced a new competition inviting young Omani professionals with expertise in urban planning, civil engineering, and design to put their skills to the test. The challenge consists of designing innovative beach huts and canopies that will enhance the coastal experience at various locations within the governorate.

The competition, which is a collaborative effort between the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning, seeks to tap into the creative potential of local talent. This initiative not only promises to rejuvenate the coastal landscape but also offers promising prizes to reward the most exceptional designs.

The competition sites are spread among coastal areas of Sur, Masirah, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, and Jaalan Bani Bu Ali. Designers are urged to consider the distinctive features and cultural significance of these locations when creating their designs. Each entrance, through combining practicality and beauty, has the potential to become a cornerstone of the local beach experience.

The competition prizes are set to motivate participants to push their creative boundaries: First Place: RO 3,000, Second Place: RO 2,000, and Third Place: RO 1,000. These prizes not only recognize the hard work and talent of the winners but also demonstrate the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate's commitment to supporting young professionals in their pursuit of excellence in their respective fields.

Young professionals who are passionate about design and aspire to make a lasting impact on Oman's coastal beauty are encouraged to participate in the competition.
