Muscat: During the first half of 2023, Oman Housing Bank (OHB) approved more than 2,000 housing loans having a lumpsum value of more than RO 86 million.
The loans, endorsed in various governorates of Oman, seek to enhance the bank's role in meeting the needs of deserving applicants.
The number of housing loans awarded through OHB in the Governorate of Muscat stood at 502. OHB also approved 92 housing loans in Salalah, 276 loans in Suhar, 115 in Sur, 267 in Nizwa and 17 in Khasab.
OHB’s Al Rustaq branch garnered the highest percentage of approved housing loans (a total of 515 loans), compared to 147 loans in Al Buraimi and 89 loans through OHB’s Ibra branch.
In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Musa Masoud al Jadidi, CEO of Oman Housing Bank, said that, since its foundation in 1977 and until the end of 2022, OHB approved more than 52,000 subsidized housing loans worth more than RO 1.4 billion.
