Omani Financial Manager Program Launched at Dhofar Chamber Branch

Salalah,: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represented by its Dhofar branch, launched the Omani Financial Manager Program yesterday in Salalah.


The initiative, which aims to advance Omani professionals across both public and private sectors, is organized in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).


The event was attended by Minister of Labour, Dr. Mahad bin Said Baawin, Minister of Labor, along with, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Faisal bin Abdullah al Rwais, and several officials and business leaders.


Board member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the head of the supervisory committee for the program, Dr. Abdullah bin Masood al Harthy, shared that the program's organization aims to stimulate and develop the business environment in the Dhofar Governorate, contributing to enhancing the performance of the private sector through the advancement of tools and programs available to drive economic development in the Sultanate of Oman.


While representative from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a member of the supervisory committee, Sajeev Swindran, highlighted the program's significance in developing qualified human resources capable of delivering valuable services in the accounting profession.


Adding that the program offers opportunities for career development, enhances the skills of professionals in accounting and finance, and provides support mechanisms for their entrepreneurial projects, thus bolstering their professional expertise.


The inaugural program featured a visual presentation about the Omani Financial Manager Program and the announcement of its launch. The supervisory committee for the program was also honored during the event.


The program, offered by the chamber free of charge, targets business owners and small to medium-sized enterprises, and will span over a period of two weeks starting from August 26, 2023.


The program consists of eight major pillars that are centered on the financial health of a business. This covers the development of financial, legal, and accounting systems as well as resources, operations, risk management, funding, budgets, and strategic business plans.


The Omani Financial Manager Program is a part of the initiatives and services provided by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the private sector enterprises, entrepreneurs, and small to medium-sized businesses. These efforts aim to enhance their leadership capabilities by improving the business environment and bolstering the standards that qualify them to infuse their projects with competent accounting professionals.
