Oman to attend G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting

MUSCAT: Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, is heading the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman to the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Trade and Investment, which takes place in the Indian city of Jaipur during August 23-25, 2023.


The meeting will discuss a number of topics related to trade and investment, including supporting multilateral trade for global growth and prosperity, building inclusive and flexible trade and leveraging technology for global growth.


The ministerial meeting will also deliberate on supply chain management, support for small and medium enterprises and efforts to increase their competitiveness. G20 ministers will also discuss the importance of international trade, innovation and development as an engine of growth and building a more resilient global economy, in addition to the importance of renewable energy sources and the transition to a green economy, the importance of logistics in trade, and consensus on issues related to global trade and investment.


During the visit, Qais al Yousef will also meet with a number with officials to strengthen relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the countries of the world and explore potential investment opportunities for cooperation in various sectors.


The Minister will also head the delegation of the Sultanate of Oman at the G20 Business Forum, which represents the global business community (B20) with the participation of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of private sector institutions in New Delhi during August 25 – 27, 2023.
