Muscat: Drivers are to be cautious as chances for rains and dust rising continue this weekend too.

Whether it is fog and drizzle in Dhofar or rain and dust in the adjoining areas of Al Hajar Mountains drivers must take all cautions and practice safe driving and especially not attempt to challenge a wadi.

The mountainous areas of South al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, and parts of Al Dhahira, Al Buraimi, North al Sharqiya and Dhofar governorates are expected to receive rains and are under alert, according to Oman Met Office.

Wadis are expected to experience flash floods and precautions are to be taken while driving especially by not crossing active wadis or the ones that could have flash floods.

Fresh downdraft is expected over Al Hajar Mountains.

As per the weather report from Oman Met Office, the rainfall would range between 10 - 40 mm.

However the downdraft wind is expected to range between 20 to 35 knots and therefore could bring about poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising.

Maximum temperature was experienced in Khasab and Myzoona with around 44 degrees Celsius.

While sea state has been moderate along Oman Sea coast , the Arabian Sea coasts are expected to be rough ranging 2.5 to 4.5 meters.

Meanwhile, the coastal areas of Dhofar Governorate and adjoining mountains are forecast to have intermittent drizzle with chances of isolated driving.
