MUSCAT: The athletes of the Al Noor Association for the Blind goal-ball team showcased their outstanding abilities and determination, securing a triumphant victory in the International Torch Championship in Jordan. The championship, held in the sports hall of Prince Raad bin Zaid Complex in the Jordanian capital of Amman, witnessed exceptional performances by the stars of Oman.
The journey to victory began with an impressive display as the Al Noor Association team defeated Jordan's reserve team with a resounding score of 11-1. Continuing their dominant form, they achieved another triumph by overpowering the Jordanian Al Shula Club with a commanding score of 10-0. The team's prowess was further on display with a convincing victory against the Kuwait national team, concluding with a score of 14-4. The Saudi Hail Club also experienced the team's might, facing defeat with a score of 11-1. Lastly, the Al Noor Association team defeated the Al Baha Club from Saudi Arabia with a score of 10-0.
In the semifinals, the Omani Al Noor Association team, who qualified as the group leaders, faced off against Jordan's reserve team to win with a score of 10-0.
The final match was a breathtaking spectacle, as the Al Noor Association for the Blind faced the Jordanian Al Shula Club once again.
In a fiercely contested battle, the Al Noor team emerged triumphant, securing the championship with a remarkable score of 22-12.
