Muscat: Oman's Weather Office on Monday said heavy rains likely to continue over some parts of the Sultanate.
Heavy rainfalls ranging between 20-40 mm is expected till 10pm today over the mountanious areas of Al Dakhiliya, Al Dhahira, Al Buraimi, South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, North Al Sharqiyah, and Dhofar governorates, Met Office said.
Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershower and downdraft wind with speed of 15-35 knots also expected. The agency also warned of flash floods and urged people to move away from wadis and low-lying areas during heavy rains.
Satellite pictures showed activity of autumn clouds on the coasts and mountains of Dhofar Governorate, and a partly cloudy atmosphere with moderate temperatures over the coastal areas of the Al Wusta and South Al Sharqiyah governorates, and cumulus clouds form over the Hajar Mountains.
