The Investor Relations (IR) team of Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) hosted members of the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA), as well as representatives of the local Oman chapter. In attendance was Syeda Tabinda Bukhari, MSX Senior Researcher, who is also Head of MEIRA Oman Chapter and representative of the Capital Market Authority on MEIRA’s Board of Directors. Also present were John Gollifer, General Manager – MEIRA, and CFOs and IR practitioners from Omani listed companies.
The meeting highlighted importance of the IR function for the development of effective two- way communication between listed companies and the investment community that may eventually result in the fair valuation of company’s share price and ultimately maximize shareholder value.
MEIRA representatives participated in an interactive exchange of ideas and discussions on how to take the function forward. The findings of a market-wide IR survey and guide were also shared.
The session ended with MSX recounting MEIRA’s efforts in Oman’s IR function development journey, while thanking them for their support in preparing the survey and guide. The Association also announce its ‘Sustainable Investments’ (SI) initiatives for IR and ESG and the upcoming guidelines and disclosure platforms, and urged the listed companies to stay tuned to MSX SI section on its official portal for future updates.
