From time to time, we all need a period of rest, in which we recharge our energy, and during which we move away from the daily routine of life. A well-planned vacation is one of the best means to achieve the desired results.

This provides an opportunity to get away from the pressures that cause tension and reduce the level of the hormone cortisol in the body, which gives the body an opportunity to repair what was damaged by stress.

This will help stimulate the heart and blood circulation, raising the efficiency of the immune system, which reduces the possibility of exposure to diseases.

Some young people wait for vacations, even if they are short, to develop their hobbies, and refresh their memory again. While some of them find it an opportunity to clear their mind off work, relax and unwind, and do not want to engage in any other activity.

According to a study, vacation is the best way to improve a person’s cognitive performance, as it contributes to enhancing mental and physical health, and the time we spend on vacation helps reduce harmful biological processes related to stress, which contributes to improving human health.

Vacation is also considered one of the most important incentives that help employees make better decisions and find innovative solutions to work problems.

Given that cells are affected by aging in response to improper handling of stress, the importance of vacations becomes even more evident.

Some studies also show that vacation improves the ability to combat anxiety by 29 per cent as five days off reduces anxiety levels for up to 45 days.

The question arises: How can employees take productive leave?

Do they go out through it to charge their energy and achieve the desired balance between work and social life?

In the beginning, employees are advised to take advantage of the leave to travel or go outside in view of the nature of working life within closed office walls to breathe deeply, relax and rearrange thoughts. It is essential for the employee to make sure that his mind is completely disconnected from work and news so that he can recharge and actively return to work.

A vacation helps enhance communication between a person and his relatives and friends.

It also helps maintain the friendly spirit between co-workers, after long and stressful working hours. A study says that often our bodies cannot bear the pressures of work, and then all we want is a vacation in which we feel happy, refreshed and energetic, noting that some companies have introduced company-wide vacations to encourage people to take care of their physical and mental health, according to a report published on the ETimes website.

The study confirms that the option of leaving at the company level may be costly, but it will ensure greater production of employees, even if its activity stops for several days. A company, with a happy work team, means greater productivity and success.

Giving up your vacation time can actually be detrimental to your career in the long run. Increased stress, inability to concentrate and in severe cases depression that can escalate, can all destroy your health as well as your ability to perform well at work.
