He also pledged to increase funding for the 45 Olympic Committees that are members of the Olympic Council of Asia until 2023, and to bring about positive change in the coming years.

In the elections of the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for West Asia, Dr Thani al Kuwari, Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, defeated his Emirati rival, Osama al Shafar, chairman of the Asian Cycling Federation, by 26 votes to 18.

The most we can talk about, the Board of Directors of OOC approve five international participations for 2023, the first one is the 15th Arab Sports Games hosted by Algeria during the period from 5 to 15 July, which Oman teams achieved different colour medals. The second participant in the 2nd World Beach Games, on the island of Bali, Indonesia, from August 5 to 12.

The third one in 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, which will be held from September 23 to October 8. The forth is the 6th Asian Indoor Games, which will be hosted by the Thai capital, Bangkok, from September 17 until November 26, the last of which is the 1st GCC youth sports tournament, to be held in the United Arab Emirates next December.

The Board, in coordination with sports federations and committees had previously defined technical standards for external participations, circulated and formed a specialised technical team in this regard, and the team coordinated with sports federations and committees to determine the level of participation for each round, competition, teams and players for individual games in light of technical levels, credits and allocations for each of them.
