AMMAN: Within the framework of his visit to Amman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, on Thursday held a meeting with Dr Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
During the meeting, Sayyid Badr conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and to the Prime Minister, along with His Majesty the Sultan's wishes of welfare and prosperity to the people of Jordan.
For his part, Al Khasawneh asked Sayyid Badr to convey the greetings and best wishes of King Abdullah II to His Majesty the Sultan, in addition to the Jordanian Monarch’s best wishes of progress and prosperity for the Omani people.
Sayyid Badr and Al Khasawneh stressed that the two countries look forward to expanding bilateral cooperation in all spheres. They expressed satisfaction over the positive outcome of the 11th session of the Omani-Jordanian Joint Committee held in Amman.
The meeting also touched on regional and international developments of common concern.
Sayyid Badr also held a session of closed-door talks at the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The meeting discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and the two countries’ keenness to develop partnership in various fields in a manner that benefits their brotherly fraternal peoples.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of current regional and international developments and issues of common concern. They affirmed their support for all efforts aimed at promoting peaceful approaches and consolidating pillars of security and stability in the region and the world at large.
The two sides called for the realisation of a fair and comprehensive solution that ends the Israeli occupation and safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, based on the basis of the Two-State solution, relevant international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Hashel al Muselhi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Shaikh Faisal bin Omar al Marhoon, Head of the Arab Department, and Faisal bin Sultan al Hosni, Chargé d’affaires of the Sultanate of Oman’s Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Amjad Kuhewi, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Sultanate of Oman, and other officials. - ONA
