The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate-General of Health Services in the Governorate of Muscat, launched a '1,000 health paramedics' campaign in Al Amerat, which was announced in May this year.

The campaign comprised several introductory and training workshops for participants from various locations as announced by the Directorate on its official websites and on social media platforms.

Faisal bin Amer al Hanashi, a senior specialist nurse in the Training Department of the Directorate-General of Health Services in the Governorate of Muscat, explained that the campaign aims to educate the community in the field of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation in order to raise the level of health awareness.

"The campaign will be applied initially in the Wilayat of Al Amerat until it reaches all the wilayats in the Governorate of Muscat, according to the plan prepared for it, which received a great turnout from members of society during the registration period," he said.

The Directorate began holding activities accompanying the campaign, which included publishing video clips on the Directorate's account for social media platforms, in addition to distributing some educational pamphlets about the campaign and holding mini-training courses in a number of schools in Muscat Governorate, targeting 700 teachers and students.
