MUSCAT: A facility for an Omani start-up company in the field of manufacturing transparent dental aligners 'BClear Aligner' with specialised Omani cadres was inaugurated on Tuesday in Ghala, Governorate of Muscat. The company is considered a first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate of Oman in this field.
Eng Yumna bint Ahmed al Sharji, founding partner of BClear Aligner, said that the company is one of the emerging Omani companies in the field of medical technology. It was established in the third quarter of 2021, and aims to localise and develop the transparent orthosis industry and provide the products to beneficiaries locally and regionally.
She stated that the transparent orthodontic aligners are made of bio-acceptable materials approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in the human body.
She added that the company's team consists of specialised doctors, engineers and technicians, and the percentage of Omanis in the company stands at 85 per cent. The company is working to localise all the necessary expertise to develop its products, depending on national human resources.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health. Al Sabti toured the facility and he was briefed on its various sections and the method used in the manufacturing process. - ONA
