Words that are spoken hold power in them. So we are told to use positive words.
A tongue can be sharper than a sword. The wound that it creates can take forever to heal because it is invisible and no surgeon can patch it up.
It a pain that cannot be seen, except it leaves marks on the health of the individual.
The windows of the mind, the eyes, look empty. Others laugh at them saying, “Always lost.”They are not helping either. Some can express their depression and get help, others might never. And as they silently suffer, their world falls apart.
They lose objective in life, and this is where ego might help - by searching out for ‘I’. At times ‘I’ find you.
Who am I?
Philosophers urge you to seek the answer to this question, ‘Who am I?’
People also say ego is not a good feature to have. But when one is floating on clouds and you do not seem to find the anchors, and have others labeling you, it is the ‘I’, who rebels and emerges to take control of the situation.
Are we what others define us? Should they be even defining us?
Everyone has the freedom to have their own opinions. And should they be even telling you what they think of you?
If it is good, then it is a compliment so you may bask in it for a while. But, wait, did they really mean it?
If they did, enjoy it. If not, take it with a bit of seasoning for you want your peace.
But if it is criticism, let us analyse it, is it constructive? Did it hurt you? Did the words break you?
Build yourself again because you do not have a choice as no one can really help but ourselves. The sooner the better because the longer you linger with it the lasting impact is going to be on your health. Some of the damages can be irreversible.
So now we have to think about our purpose in life. This can be a very long or short one. The more we ponder we realise it is one life, and we have a choice to make it a good one or a saga of a struggle. We might never find the answers, and maybe search and read. End of the day, just like our fingerprints, each one of us have our own unique solutions. What worked for others may not provide the answers for us. Hurting others will definitely not provide us gratification. But what about emotional self defence?
You are only vulnerable when you reveal yourself. Now we know why thousands choose to suffer silently than to seek help.
Health is a costly affair that is why insuring it is a solution. But how many can afford it? How many till today can comprehend the concept of health insurance. Once again this is for physical health. How about mental health?
How about reassuring ourselves by maintaining a nutritious diet and staying fit with an exercise routine?
Why not have mental health awareness from an early age so even children become aware of emotions and the impact of words and thoughts.
Sometimes just a few kind words can create magic and a lasting positive impact.
