MEDINA: Groups of pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman have begun arriving in the holy lands to perform the pilgrimage for AH 1444, on Wednesday.

The arrival of pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman in Medina through land has finished according to the plans devised by the Omani Haj Mission in cooperation with the Haj companies while pilgrims travelling through the air are still arriving in Medina.

Abdulaziz bin Saud al Ghafir, Vice Chairman of the Omani Haj Mission, told ONA that the Omani Haj Mission has sent a team to Medina to deliver services to the pilgrims who arrived there. Pilgrims arriving in Medina make up 60 per cent of the total number of pilgrims for this year, which stands at 14,000 pilgrims.

A delegation from the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs began delivering lectures to the pilgrims at their accommodations. Another delegation overseeing the Haj companies visited the pilgrims to check the companies’ commitment to the contracts they signed with the pilgrims, he added. — ONA
