MUSCAT: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) hosted a two-day workshop at which key officials brainstormed initiatives for implementation during 2024.
Under the theme of enhancing the nation's economic landscape, the workshop provided a platform for the Ministry's employees to contribute their valuable ideas and suggestions. Their participation sought to streamline processes, improve work dynamics, and propel the Ministry's growth in the years to come.
Discussions during the workshop centered on evaluating both individual and institutional proficiency within the Ministry. Key areas of focus included trade and industry, specifications and standards, investment promotion, competition protection, and measures to facilitate and attract foreign investments. The objective was to cultivate an investment-friendly environment in the Sultanate of Oman while stimulating economic growth and development.
Nasima bint Yahya al Balushi, Director General of Planning at the Ministry, said her department is leading efforts to formulate a targeted and systematic approach that harnesses the expertise of employees at all levels. The aim is to formulate a comprehensive set of initiatives aligned with the Ministry's objectives and the country's long-term plans. These initiatives are expected to bring about significant advancements and progress for the Ministry in the coming years.
In an effort to engage the wider community, the Ministry also launched a survey on its social media platforms. Through this initiative, they hope to gather proposals and suggestions from the public on how to enhance the business environment in the Sultanate of Oman. By promoting a knowledge-based economy and providing necessary support, the Ministry aims to create an attractive investment climate and improve the overall quality of services offered.
