Muscat, June 14
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion achieved successful conclusion at the seventh football championship of the Fellowship Fund League for the ministry’s employees. The thrilling tournament concluded on Tuesday, witnessed the industry team’s remarkable victory, earning the coveted championship title.
Under the esteemed auspices of Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, in presence of Dr Saleh bin Said bin Salim Masan, the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.
, as well as presence of Pankaj Khimji, Adviser for External Trade and International Cooperation at Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion , alongside supporting companies.
The Fellowship Fund League witnessed participation from a total of eight teams, divided into two groups. The first group comprised the Minister’s Office, Trade, Investment Services Center, and the General Directorate of Standards and Metrology. The second group included the Industry, Administrative, and Financial Affairs, Al Rustaq and Nizwa management teams, and the planning team. The tournament kicked off in mid-May and all matches were held at the sub-stadium of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.
The pinnacle of the tournament saw the industry team claim the championship title after a nail-biting encounter with the Administrative and Financial Affairs team. Following an intense match that ended in a goalless draw, the industry team triumphed over their opponents through a series of penalty kicks. The Administrative and Financial Affairs team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition, securing the runner-up position.
In an equally fierce battle for third place, the Minister’s Office team secured victory by defeating the Investment Services Center team by a thrilling penalty shootout.
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion commends all the teams for their exceptional sportsmanship and unwavering commitment throughout the Fellowship Fund League.
