Muscat: In the next 48 hours, a low-pressure formation could develop into a depression in the southeast of the Arabian Sea, according to Oman Met Office.
According to Oman Met Office weather forecasters, the direction of the movement is unclear since the system is yet to form.
"Once formed, the track will be clearer," said the weather forecaster.
"Until now, there has been no impact on Oman's weather. There would be no influence on Oman's weather conditions for the next five days."
After the formation of low pressure in a tropical system, one of the first impacts will be on the wind, which could influence the temperatures.
On Sunday, it had mainly clear skies with cloud development over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas during the afternoon. The weather forecast has given an alert on chances of dust rising over desert and open areas as well as late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches over parts of the coasts of South al Sharqiya, Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.
Along the Oman Sea coast, the winds are expected to be northeasterly light to moderate during the day time becoming variable light at night, while along the rest of the governorates, it will be southerly to southwesterly light to moderate, occasionally fresh along the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and deserts areas.
The coasts of the Arabian Sea are expected to be moderate, with a maximum wave height of 2.0 metres and slight along the rest of the coasts, with a maximum wave height of 1.25 metres.
Fog is also expected, and this could have an impact on visibility.
Sur recorded the highest temperature with a maximum of 44 degrees Celsius and a low of 31 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the coolest place was Jabal Shams, with a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 13 degrees Celsius.
