Oman's electronic games team faced a challenging journey in the West Asian Championship for Electronic Games, FiFa23, hosted by Saudi Arabia. The team's participation in the tournament concluded on Thursday as they were eliminated from the group stage.


The Omani team, consisting of three skilled players, namely Fahr al Kindi, Fahad al Hassani and Omar al Amri, showcased their dedication and passion for the game throughout the competition.


The group stage of the championship was filled with intense excitement, captivating gaming enthusiasts for approximately five consecutive hours. The matches witnessed fierce competition among various participating nations.


Emerging victorious from the group stage and advancing to the semifinals were Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar and Kuwait. These teams showcased exceptional skills and determination securing their place in the next round, which is scheduled to take place on Friday.


The Saudi national team dominated their group with an impressive record of three victories and one draw. Meanwhile, the Qatar national team secured a win, a draw and suffered two defeats during the group stage.


On the other hand, the Kuwait national team exhibited their prowess, amassing 8 points through two victories and two draws, ensuring their qualification for the semifinals.


In an intriguing turn of events, the Lebanese e-football team secured their spot in the semifinals of the West Asian Championship, despite not achieving a single victory in the group stage.


Lebanon's progression was determined through a unique calculation method, taking into account the reverse loss of the Lebanon team against Kuwait 3-2, as they managed to score two goals.


Oman's journey in the tournament came to an end as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Kuwait, failing to score.


Although Oman's electronic games team did not progress beyond the group stage, their participation and commitment to the sport have left a lasting impression. The team's achievements and dedication serve as an inspiration to aspiring gamers across Oman.
