Muscat: Around 6,000 hotel rooms are readily available in the Dhofar governorate to receive visitors during the upcoming Khareef season, according to Ministry Of Heritage and Tourism officials.
Direct flights from nine airlines will commence this month, taking. total number of weekly flights to Salalah to over 170.
There will be 110 flights from Muscat and Sohar, 36 flights from the UAE, 13 flights from Saudi Arabia, seven flights from Qatar, and five flights from Kuwait.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP in the Dhofar Governorate, is preparing for the upcoming Khareef season in Dhofar this year, in coordination with other government and private agencies.
Sheikh Jamal bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Director General of the Directorate General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Dhofar Governorate, said that the directorate held an extensive meeting with a number of relevant government agencies and private sector institutions to review the ministry's efforts related to the provision of commodities and foodstuff services, promote banking services, and raise the efficiency of fuel stations. The Directorate has coordinated with officials of commercial banks in the governorate to carry out the necessary maintenance on automated teller machines and deposits in markets, malls, and commercial centers during the fall season, and to ensure their operation and conduct periodic maintenance.
