Geneva: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, took part on Sunday in the 59th regular session of the Arab Health Ministers Council, headed by Algeria.
The session was held in Geneva prior to the 76th session of the World Health Assembly which is participated by Arab health ministers.
Oman was represented during the regular session by Dr Hilal Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health.
The meeting discussed a spectrum of topics, including several topics submitted by the executive office. It also reviewed the strategy of improving the health of mothers, children and teenage girls in the Arab region, among other topics.
Moreover, the council approved the new memberships of the executive office of the Arab Health Ministers Council, comprising Oman, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Oman’s delegation included Idris Abdul Rahman al Khanjari, Permanent Representative of Oman to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva and Dr Ahmed Salim al Mantheri.
