The Sultanate of Oman’s serene beaches, mountains, and clean environment will be featured on a foreign television channel, the premiere of which will be held in Muscat soon.
The film titled ‘Wild Oman: Wonder of Arabia’, made with the support of the Environment Society of Oman, will be screened exclusively at the Omantel Headquarters on May 22.
Oman Daily Observer and Oman (Arabic) are media sponsors of the film, which took more than a year to make with Omani and foreign crew of the film traveling the length and breadth of the country.
“We are featuring Oman’s immaculate landscape rare animals, including Arabian leopard, turtles and Arabian Humpback, Ibex, and the like, which are truly Omani, and birds migrating to Oman. It is to safeguard all creatures and natural habitats and anything that only Oman exclusively has. Sometimes we tend to overlook,” says Maisa al Hooti, whose brainchild is this series of films, which began a year ago.
Maisa is a passionate underwater photographer and conservation advocate who runs ‘Oman in Focus’ for many years, to feature Oman’s unique environmental assets on a global platform.
With the documentary film on Oman, from Musandam to Dhofar, Maisa, and her team believe it’s good to shed more light on the fact that we need to protect nature and other creatures around us. It’s also an attempt to tell the world that Oman is home to many of these unique animals and birds. Many people travel to other countries to see them.
“An international crew team does the whole shoot and post-production of the documentary along with the local craftsmen and experts who work hand in hand with them.
