MUSCAT: A photography exhibition entitled ‘Austria-Oman Photographic Impressions’ opened at the Bait Al Zubair Museum in Muscat Governorate on May 10. The event was held under the auspices of Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, for tourism.
The Auner Quartet performed a series of entertaining classical music pieces for about an hour. The Quartet is a classical music group that has won several international awards during its career. They are also the first Austrian ensemble to be featured on the cover of the Performing Arts Yearbook of Europe.
Later, the chief guest inaugurated the exhibition (Austria-Oman Photographic Impressions) by Austrian photographer Nikolaus Korab and the Omani photographer Qasim al Farsi.
The idea of the exhibition is to take pictures of Oman by the Austrian photographer while the Omani photographer will do the same of the Republic of Austria, so that each photographer presents his impression of the other country. These images varied between nature, architecture, and faces, to reflect beauty through the lens of the other.
